My Hero, an Essay by Harry James Potter

What if Harry had to write an essay for his English class? Sarah Wolf shows him what he might write on the topic of heroism.

Severus' Letter from Chapter 63

In Chapter 63 of A Year Like None Other, Harry, Draco, and Severus have to deal with the casewitch from Wizard Family Services . . . again. Hermione had written a complaint letter saying she was concerned Harry was being abused by his new family. The family manages to convince Family Services that the injuries Hermione saw were the result of rugby practice.

But then, at the end of the chapter, Severus has a suggestion:

Snape paused for a moment. "Perhaps you could help me with some correspondence? As I recall, you seemed to think my usual style of writing was a bit much."

A bad, bad feeling settled in Harry's chest. "You don't mean . . . ?"

"Indeed." Snape's black eyes glittered as he flicked his wand and summoned parchment. "I do believe it is time we dealt with Miss Granger."

These are sample letters that readers provided, trying to guess what Severus would write in his letter to Miss Granger.

Alternate Chapter 91

Remember the cliffhanger at the end of Chapter 90? Lucius had just portkeyed Draco (into a pit of snakes, he said) away from the Defence classroom, and he had Harry frozen and in the Floo. And then:

Lucius laughed. "Yes, he's there right now. And by the time I'm ready to allow him release . . . oh, yes. He'll have reconsidered his strange obsession with you. He'll reverse the regrettable choices he's made this year. All of them."

With that, Lucius threw down a pinch of powder.

Harry's world dissolved into flames.
